The Ode to the Open Can: A Feeding Rhythm π₯£π₯«ποΈβ¨πΎ
The kitchen is silent, the clock is at six, π
Itβs time for the human to perform all their tricks.
They reach for the cupboard, they reach for the tin,
And thatβs when the excitement-zoomies begin! ππ¨
The sound of the ring-pull is music to me, πΆπ
A high-frequency signal of protein and glee.
Itβs better than chirping, itβs better than birds,
A language that doesn't require any words. π£οΈπ«
There once was a can of blue-fin,
That sat in a cupboard of tin.
The human servant used force,
To let it take course,
And let all the feasting begin! π₯£πβ¨
"Is it salmon?" asks Toby, with whiskers a-flare, πΌπ
"I smell something tasty and rich in the air!"
"Hush, little ginger," I trill with a purr, πΆπ¦
"Just wait for the Staff to un-ruffle their fur."
The human servant is slow and quite dazed, π·ββοΈπ₯±
While three pairs of eyes are currently glazed.
We perform the ankle-rub, rhythmic and sweet,
To guide them toward our favorite treat! π¦΄πΎβ¨
The human servant was slow,
And didn't quite know where to go.
I gave a big trill,
By the window sill,
And put on a first-class show! ππ¦π
The bowl hits the floor with a porcelain sound, ποΈβ¨
The finest acoustics that ever were found.
We feast like the lions of ancient-ish times,
A drama of dinner, in rhythmic-ish rhymes! π₯£π¦β¨
Itβs high-value assets, itβs gourmet and grand,
The best way to start a new day in the land.
No more of the kibble, no more of the dry,
Just pΓ’tΓ© and gravy, as high as the sky! ππ€€
A bowl that is full to the brim,
Is perfect for her and for him.
We eat every bite,
In the morning light,
Until all the portions are slim. π₯β¨π½οΈ
So cheers to the ring-pull and cheers to the Staff, π₯π·ββοΈ
Who make us all purr and who make us all laugh.
Weβll stay in the kitchen until every morsel is through,
The happiest eaters that ever you knew! ποΈπ¦β¨
