A package was left by the front entry door, 📦
It sat for an hour on the cold kitchen floor.
I sniffed at the cardboard, I poked at the tape,
And noted its squarish and bulky-ish shape. 👃🧐

The human servant used a sharp metal tool, 🪛
And out came a treasure, a gift, or a jewel!
A perch of soft velvet, as blue as the sea, 🌊
Designed for a Sovereign, designed just for ME! 👑🦁

There once was a perch of deep blue,
Whose texture was scrumptious and new.
I jumped on the seat,
To warm up my feet,
And bid all my worries adieu! 🥞✨💤

"Is it bouncy?" asked Toby, with ginger-ish glee, 🍼
"Can I have a turn? Is there space enough for three?"
I looked at the kitten, so eager and small,
"There's room for a lion, and that is quite all!" 🦁🛡️

But Arthur just laughed from his radiator base, 👵🧪
"A king must have subjects to liven the place.
If you nap all alone in that velvet-y spot,
You'll miss all the gossip that Toby has got!" 👥💬✨

A bed that is soft and quite deep,
Is perfect for high-quality sleep.
I sink in the foam,
The king of the home,
With secrets I’m happy to keep. 🧿🧿🤫

The window is sunny, the velvet is warm, ☀️🎀
A tactical sanctuary in any great storm.
I stretch out my tail and I wiggle my nose,
And feel all the comfort from ears to my toes. 🐾🦁

It’s better than carpets, it’s better than chairs,
It’s better than sleeping on top of the stairs.
It’s high-altitude luxury, floating and grand,
The best piece of furniture ever was planned! 🏆✨🎈

The human servant looked at the cat,
Who sat on his velvet-y mat.
He gave a big purr,
And ruffled his fur,
And that, as they say, was just that! 🎶🥞🦁

So cheers to the velvet, the suctions, and glass, 🥂💎
A first-class experience for cats of high class.
I’ll stay in my bubble, I’ll stay in my zone,
The happiest lion that ever was known! 🥇🦁✨
