The Kittenโs Curiosity (Part 2): The Tug-of-War ๐ช๏ธ๐๐ฆโจ๐พ
The kitten came to the closet door. He opened it with a tiny paw. *Creeeeak.* ๐ช
There lay the vacuum cleaner. It was sleeping. It was long and yellow and coiled like a snake. ๐
"O mechanical beast," said the kitten. "What do you eat for dinner?"
The vacuum did not answer. But then... the Man-thing walked in and plugged it in. ๐
*ROAAAAAAAR!* ๐
The vacuum woke up! It inhaled! It sucked up the kitten's piece of lint! And then... it grabbed the kittenโs tail! ๐
"Let go!" cried the kitten. "You are hurting me!"
He dug his claws into the **Reinforced Steel Fold-Away** perch. He pulled. And he pulled. And he pulled! ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
The vacuum pulled the other way. It was a great tug-of-war! ๐งถ
Suddenlyโ*POP!*โthe tail came free. But it was stretched! It was now twice as long as before! ๐๐ฎ
The kitten ran away to the safety of the sofa. He looked at his new, long tail. He waved it. It made a fine swish sound. ๐ฉ
"This is useful!" he said. "I can swat flies from a great distance!"
And that, O Best Beloved, is why cats have long tails. It is to remind them not to ask the vacuum what it eats for dinner. (Answer: dust and regret). ๐ช๏ธ๐ฆ
