The Rhyme of the Robin’s Nest: Aerial Gossip 🐦🏘️🎻✨

In the rosebush outside, a secret is kept, 🌳🤫
While the humans all worked and the kittens all slept.
A mother in orange, with feathers of gray,
Has been building a home since the first light of day. 🏗️🐦

I watch from the balcony, safe in my box, 🏰
My ears rotating like two fuzzy clocks.
She brings in the mud and she brings in the string,
Preparing for all that the spring-time will bring. 🧵✨

There once was a bird in a tree,
Who was busy as busy could be.
She sat on her nest,
With a puffed-out red breast,
And didn't even notice me! 🧿🧿🤫

"Is she eating?" Toby asks, with a wiggle, 🍼
"I saw a big worm!" and he lets out a giggle.
"Hush, little ginger," I trill with a blink, 🧿✨
"She’s currently working, or so I would think."

We watch as she sits through the wind and the gale, 🌪️⛈️
Her eyes are so bright and her spirit so hale.
She’s guarding the future, the eggs in the cup,
And waiting for all of the sun to come up. ☀️🥚

Three eggs of a beautiful blue,
Are hidden away from our view.
We watch through the glass,
As the long hours pass,
And wait for the chicks to break through! 🐣✨🎉

The window is perfect, it gives us the scene, 🪟🎬
Of life in the garden, so lush and so green.
We’re fans of the flight and we’re fans of the wing,
The audience members for all that they sing. 🎻🎶

It’s high-definition, it’s 4K and grand, 📺💎
The best Cat TV in the whole of the land.
No wires or buttons or glowing human box,
Just nature and feathers and four furry socks! 🐾🦁

The mother bird gave a sharp cry,
As a hawk circled high in the sky.
I puffed out my tail,
To make the hawk fail,
And watched him go fluttering by! 🦁🛡️🦅🚫

So cheers to the robin and cheers to the nest, 🥂🐦
Of all the garden subjects, she might be the best.
And thanks to the window, the perch, and the pane,
We can watch all the magic, again and again! 🏆✨🦁
