A Study in Catnip (Part 2): The Stratospheric Success πΏπ§ββοΈπβ¨
The jar tumbled from the cabinet in slow-motion. πΊπ I could see the individual flakes of green gold pressed against the glass, unaware of their impending doom. Below, the tiled floor waited like a cold, hard judge. ποΈβοΈ
"MUFFIN! CATCH IT!" Toby shrieked, his pupils so large they had swallowed his entire face. π§Ώπ§Ώπ
I didn't think. I acted. I engaged my aero-dynamic scramble. π¦ π I launched myself from the top of the refrigerator, not toward the cabinet, but toward the *trajectory* of the falling jar. πβ¨
I hit the side of the fridge with my rear paws, using the magnetic friction to pivot my body ninety degrees. π§²π I was a gray blur of pure tactical intent. My front paws reached out, claws retractedβI didn't want to break the seal, I wanted to cushion the impact. πΎπ‘οΈ
I caught the jar against my chest mid-air. *Oof.* π¨ I tumbled toward the rug, performing a gyroscopic roll to protect the asset. πβΈοΈ
*Thump-floof.* ποΈβ¨
I landed on the soft, plush rug near the **Ladder-Style Window Tree**. The jar was intact. The seal was unbroken. The green gold was safe. ππΏπ‘οΈ
"HEβS A HERO!" Toby trilled, performing a high-speed victory lap around my tail. ππ¨π
Arthur ambled over, looking remarkably unimpressed but with a slight, respectful twitch of his whiskers. π΄π§ͺ "A bit dramatic, Muffin. But the physics check out. Ten out of ten for the roll."
Suddenly, the Resident Staff turned around. π·ββοΈ They saw me lying on the rug, clutching a jar of catnip like it was a long-lost sibling. π₯π
"Muffin? How did you get that?" the human laughed, reaching down to take the jar. "Well, I guess if you went to all that trouble, you deserve a pinch." π·ββοΈπ€²πΏ
The lid popped. The scent filled the room. We feasted like the kings of the old savannah. π¦π¦π΅β¨ The no-jump zone had been conquered. The arms race was won. βοΈπ
As I drifted into a post-nip melt on the high shelf, I looked at the window. The world was bright, the tummy was full, and the data was clear: **Nothing is out of reach for a cat with a planβand a rug.** π₯β¨π¦
