Little Felines (Part 3): The Catnip Ball πŸ’ƒπŸ’ŽπŸ˜ΏπŸ§΄βœ¨

Meg-Persian had always felt that she was meant for better things than patchy rugs and recycled boxes. She had a "High-Maintenance Soul." So when the wealthy Moffat-Cats invited her to a "Grooming Gala," she was in a state of fluffy panic. πŸ’ŒπŸ™€πŸ§–β€β™€οΈ

"I have nothing to wear!" she wailed, looking at her simple blue collar. "My ruff is flat, and my tail has a kink in it!" πŸ‘”πŸ“‰

"You look beautiful," Beth-Ragdoll promised, trying to smooth Meg's fur with her tongue. "You are a Persian! That is royalty enough." πŸ‘‘πŸ’–

But Meg wanted more. At the Moffat mansion, she was dazzled by the luxury. Every window had a **Velvet Horizon Perch**β€”a luxurious sanctuary lined with deep purple velvet and hidden support wires that made it look like a floating cloud. β˜οΈπŸ’œβœ¨

The Moffat sistersβ€”Belle, Clara, and Sallieβ€”were very fashionable cats. They wore collars studded with rhinestones and smelled of expensive lavender shampoo. πŸ’ŽπŸŒΈπŸ§΄

"Oh, you poor thing!" Belle-Moffat exclaimed, looking at Meg's plain appearance. "Let us 'fix' you up! We shall make you the Belle of the Ball!" πŸ’…πŸ’„

They attacked Meg with powders, perfumes, and curling irons (which were actually just heated hair rollers). They squeezed her into a tight silk corset-harness that made it very difficult to breathe, let alone meow. πŸŽ€πŸ˜«

"Now you look like one of us!" Clara purred. "Go sit on the Velvet Horizon Perch and pose!" πŸ“Έβœ¨

Meg climbed onto the perch. It was incredibly soft, thanks to the memory foam base, but she felt stiff and silly. She couldn't relax. She couldn't "loaf." She could only sit like a porcelain statue. πŸ—ΏπŸ˜Ώ

Laurie-Cat, who was also at the party, looked at her from across the room. He didn't recognize his friend's sister. "Who is that stiff white cat?" he asked Jo. "She looks like she's been dipped in flour." 🍚🧐

When Meg overheard this, her heart sank. She realized that in trying to be a "Moffat," she had lost her "Meg-ness." She wasn't comfortable. She wasn't happy. She was just a doll in a gilded window. πŸ§ΈπŸ’”

As soon as she got home, she clawed off the harness and rolled frantically on the old rug to get the perfume off. "I never want to be fashionable again!" she cried. "I just want to be warm and loved and slightly messy!" πŸŒͺ️🧼❀️

Marmee-Cat smiled and licked the powder from Meg's nose. "Better to be happy in a humble box than miserable on a velvet throne, my dear." πŸ“¦πŸ‘‘βœ¨
