How the Cat Got His Zoomies (Part 1): The Great Stillness ππ€πβ¨
In the High and Far-Off Times, O Best Beloved, the Cat was the most still thing in the Wet Wild Woods. π²π
He did not run. He did not jump. He did not chase the red dotβfor the red dot had not yet been invented by the Man-thing. He just sat. π§ββοΈ
He sat on the **Velvet Horizon Perch** of the universe. He sat with his paws tucked under his chest, like a loaf of warm bread. πβ¨
"Why do you sit so?" asked the dog, who was always chasing his own tail and looking very foolish. ππ«
"I am conserving my energy," said the cat. "I am waiting for the event."
"What event?" asked the dog.
"I do not know," said the cat. "But it will be spectacular." πΌβ¨
And so the cat sat. He sat for a hundred years. He sat until his fur was dusty and his whiskers were stiff. The Moon looked down and said, "This cat is too boring. He needs a spark." πβ‘
So the Moon reached down a long, silver beam of light and tickled the cat right at the base of his tail. πππ
And that, O Best Beloved, is when the trouble began. πͺοΈ
What happened when the Moon tickled the cat? Find out in Part 2!
