The Storm That Rattled the Throne (Part 2): The Staff Rescue πͺοΈπ°π‘οΈβ¨
The large branch from the oak tree was in "Terminal Descent." π³ππ― I could see the rough bark, the wet moss, and the undeniable intent of the Outside. It was heading straight for the window pane. πͺπ₯
"IMPACT IN T-MINUS 2 SECONDS!" I trilled, digging my claws into the top-level sisal. π¦π£β‘
Suddenly, the Resident Staffβusually a being of slow, coffee-fueled movementsβperformed a **Level-10 Heroic Dash**. πββοΈπ¨β¨
They grabbed the base of the tower and hauled it three feet away from the window just as the branch hit. π°πποΈ
*CRACK-THUMP.* π₯πͺ
The branch hit the glass, but without my 15lbs of "Executive Weight" leaning against the pane, the double-glass held. ππ‘οΈ A spiderweb of small cracks appeared, but the "Invisible Forcefield" didn't shatter.
"Gotcha!" the human gasped, leaning their weight against the tower to keep it from swaying. π·ββοΈπ€²π
I sat on the top deck, my tail performing a slow, rhythmic "Analytical Sway." π©β¨ *"A timely intervention, Staff,"* my posture declared. *"I shall reward you with a 5-minute purr-session later."* π€πΆπ₯
Toby and Arthur joined us at the base, their eyes wide. π₯πΎ "The kingdom almost fell, Boss," Toby whispered. ποΈπ
"The kingdom is made of more than just wood and sisal, Toby," I replied, descending to the rug. "It is made of **Strategic Partnerships**." π€π°ππ¦
The Staff spent the rest of the night "Boarding Up" the window and moving our perches to the center of the room. π οΈπ‘οΈ We spent the evening in a state of communal "Melt" on the sofa, the storm a distant, muffled roar against the plywood. πͺοΈππ€
The Great Solstice Gale had failed to unseat the Sovereign. I am still the Master of the Mantle. πβ¨
As I drifted off to sleep, I looked at the human. They were checking the window again, their face tired but vigilant. I realized then: they aren't just servants. They are **The Perimeter Security**. πββοΈπ‘οΈβ¨πΎ
The kingdom was safe. The partnership was strong. The purr-motor was active. πΆπ₯β¨π¦
