The Many Adventures of Muffin-Pooh (Part 2)
One day, Muffin-Pooh was sitting in the middle of the Hundred-Acre Living Room, practicing a very difficult poem about kibble. π₯£π It was the sort of poem that had a lot of "yum-yum-yum" in it, which Pooh found very satisfying to compose. π¦ποΈβ¨
Suddenly, he looked up and saw a Very Strange Thing. Hanging from the ceiling fan, swaying gently in the draft, was a bright blue balloon-toy. ππ To Pooh, it looked like a giant, floating blueberry. And if there was one thing Pooh liked as much as honey-sun-beams, it was the idea of catching a giant, floating blueberry. π§Ώπ―
"If I were a cloud," Pooh mused, "I could simply float up and bat at it. But as I am a cat of some stoutness, I must find another way." βοΈπ€
He looked at the **Sun-Soaker Tower**. π°ποΈ It was a magnificent structure, three levels high, with sisal-wrapped pillars that were perfect for sharpening one's resolve (and one's claws). It stood directly beneath the ceiling fan, its top-level observation deck reaching toward the blue prize. π§ββοΈβ¨
"I shall become a Blue Cloud," Pooh announced to Piglet-Kit, who was busy investigating a piece of blue lint on the rug. π·π±π΅
"How... how do you become a cloud, Pooh?" Piglet asked, his ears perking up. π
"It is a matter of perspective," Pooh explained. "I shall climb the Tower, and once I am at the summit, I shall look so much like a cloud that the blue toy will simply fall into my paws out of sheer friendliness." βοΈπ§ββοΈπ€
Pooh began the ascent. It was a very athletic ascent for a cat of his carriage. π¦π¨ He scrambled up the first level, his claws making a satisfying *skritch-skritch* sound on the sisal. He paused at the second level to catch his breath and to see if he felt more "cloud-like" yet. π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
"Am I a cloud yet, Piglet?" he called down. ποΈ
"You look like a very handsome cat on a tower," Piglet-Kit replied truthfully. β¨π¦
"Bother," said Pooh. "I must climb higher." ποΈ
He reached the Top-Level Observation Deck. The blue balloon-toy was now within reach of a determined paw. Pooh stood on his hind legs, his belly pressing against the soft fabric of the tower. He looked very much like a golden bear-cat reaching for the sky. ππΎβ¨
He swiped. The toy danced away, spinning in the air. Pooh swiped again, and this time, his claw caught the string. ππβ‘οΈ
*Boing!* The toy bounced back, hitting Pooh right on the nose. π―π
"Oh!" said Pooh. "It is a very energetic blueberry." π«
He tried to grab it with both paws, but the Tower, though sturdy, was not designed for a cat of Pooh's momentum to be performing a "Sky-Dance" on its very edge. π€ΌββοΈποΈ There was a moment of wobblingβa moment of swayingβand then Pooh found himself gently sliding down the side of the Tower, clinging to the sisal with all ten claws. ππ±π¦
"I am a Cloud!" Pooh shouted as he descended. "I am a very fast, very heavy rain-cloud!" πͺοΈπ¨
He landed on the middle platform with a soft *thump*. The blue toy continued to sway overhead, looking down at him with a round, silent grin. ππ
"Did you catch it, Pooh?" Piglet asked, running over. πββοΈπ·π±
"I decided," Pooh said, grooming a ruffled patch of fur on his chest, "that the blue toy was perhaps a bit too blue for my current aesthetic. And besides, being a cloud is a very tiring business. I think I shall be a Cat-of-the-Tower instead." π¦π π°
He settled onto the top deck, looking out the window at the Garden-Beyond. The Sun-Soaker Tower was perfectly positioned for bird-watching, which Pooh found to be a much more relaxing form of vertical logic. ππ¦βοΈπ€
"You look very grand up there, Pooh," Piglet-Kit squeaked. π
"I am," Pooh agreed. "I am a Cat of the Summit. And that, I think, is much better than being a blueberry-hunter." ποΈπβ¨
